Warsaw hosts conference on AI and cybersecurity in healthcare
A three-day conference titled ‘Beyond digitalisation – operating health systems with data, AI and cybersecurity at scale’ commenced in Warsaw on September 21. Organized by the Ministry of Health and the e-Health Center, the event focuses on the digital transformation of healthcare systems through the responsible use of data, artificial intelligence, and enhanced cybersecurity.
Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda opened the proceedings, noting that the development of AI and the increasing importance of data necessitate a redefinition of how healthcare systems function. The conference includes participation from international representatives, including officials from the World Health Organization (WHO), the OECD, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), as well as diplomats and experts in medical AI.
In Poland, significant investments have been made in digital healthcare infrastructure. This year, hospitals are expected to gain access to a national AI platform featuring certified algorithms designed to support diagnostic imaging. The e-Health Center currently supports approximately one thousand hospitals and medical entities, managing digital services for nearly 37 million citizens.
