Warsaw opens 67th Chopin Concert season on 100th anniversary of monument

The 67th season of the Concerts Chopinowskie began on 5 July 2024 in the Royal Baths Park (Łazienki Królewskie) in Warsaw. The opening recital marked the centenary of the monument to Frédéric Chopin, a landmark of the city’s summer cultural programme.

The inaugural concert featured pianist Piotr Alexiewicz, young pianist Paweł Pieczka, a poetry reading by Krzysztof Gosztyła and a special appearance by soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, who sang Chopin’s songs with piano accompaniment. A second recital by laureate Jakub Kuszlik followed in the afternoon.

Throughout July and August, free outdoor concerts will be held every Sunday at noon and 4 p.m., showcasing Polish and international pianists as well as occasional vocal performances. A dedicated zone with an induction loop is provided for the hearing‑impaired.
