Poland rolls out major road, bridge and tram upgrades

Poland is implementing a series of infrastructure projects across the country. Road works include the construction of a 2 km bike path from Lednogóra to Imielno funded with 2.18 million zł, the renovation of the Górna street in Łódź with underground utility upgrades slated for surface work in August, the refurbishment of the 1.4‑million‑zł DW 716 stretch near Wola Moszczenicka, and the preparation of design documentation for a 29‑km segment of the S11 express road, awarded to TRAKT for 12.45 million zł. The DK84 corridor between Zagórz and Lesko will receive 4 million zł for bridge modernization, a passing lane and landslide protection. Bridge projects such as the first stage of Kotlarski Bridge reconstruction and the Grunwaldzki Bridge overhaul in Kraków are progressing on schedule. Tram networks are also being restored: Bytom’s twelve lines return under the Zamłyn viaduct, Gdańsk’s Jagiellońska street reopens on 27 July, and Warsaw completes the underground tram stop at the West Station as part of a new 1.6‑km tunnel. Cultural heritage works include a 32 million zł revamp of the Zamoyski Palace in Bieżun, turning it into a Constitution Museum, and a 10‑plus‑million‑zł renovation of the 19th‑century palace at Woskowice Małe, adding a new elevator for accessibility. Additional projects cover the modernisation of the Jagiellońska street in Warsaw, the Hucisko traffic node in Gdańsk and the launch of new regional rail routes by Koleje Małopolskie.
