Warsaw to host Saint Francis 800th anniversary exhibition
The exhibition ‘I, Brother Francis: 800 Years of a Great Adventure’ will take place in Warsaw from October 9 to 11, 2026. Held in the crypt of the Church of All Saints on Grzybowski Square, the event is a collaborative effort between the Comunione e Liberazione community and the Warsaw Province of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual.
The exhibition aims to present the life and message of Saint Francis of Assisi through both historical tradition and a contemporary lens. The program includes various activities such as panel discussions, film screenings, workshops, and a conversation with an Italian poet. Specific sessions are designed for students, youth, and catechists to encourage an authentic encounter with Franciscan spirituality.
To ensure historical accuracy, the Conventual Franciscans are assisting with the translation and preparation of critical texts by Saint Francis. The exhibition also features physical elements of the Franciscan lifestyle, including a habit made from fabrics provided by the friars, intended to represent the values of minimalism and brotherhood.
