Wartsila signs MoU with Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions for Japanese data centers
Wartsila has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES) to evaluate power supply solutions for data-intensive data centers in Japan. The collaboration focuses on developing gas- or dual-fuel motor-based power plant concepts designed to provide energy to TGES's upcoming data center projects. This strategic move positions Wartsila within the growing market for AI-driven data processing by offering flexible power architectures that can respond quickly to load changes.
In conjunction with the Japan deal, Wartsila reported its Q2 2026 interim results, posting revenue of 1.56 billion EUR and a profit of 146 million EUR, representing a margin of 9.36 percent. Following these announcements, Wartsila's stock saw positive movement on the Nasdaq Helsinki.
