Washington anti‑terrorism summit hosts Bosnia and Croatia foreign ministers

The United States State Department, led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, is convening a ministerial summit in Washington aimed at countering transnational extremist‑left terrorism. More than 70 countries are invited to discuss security threats, intelligence sharing, border protection and critical infrastructure safety.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s foreign minister Elmedin Konaković will attend the meeting on 16 July 2026 and will hold a series of bilateral talks with senior U.S. officials, intending to present his view on the security situation in Bosnia.

Croatia will be represented by State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Zdenko Lucić. He will focus on regional security, energy resilience and diversification, as well as bilateral discussions with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Daniel J. Lawton on cooperation in Southeast Europe and Croatia’s goal of joining the OECD before year‑end.
