Washington Nationals to promote Jackson Kent for MLB debut

The 23-year-old, a fourth-round pick from the University of Arizona, is expected to fill the rotation spot vacated by veteran right-hander Zack Littell, who was recently designated for assignment and released.

Kent has seen a rapid rise through the Nationals' system this season, moving from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester. While his ERA in Triple-A was 4.38 across 13 starts, he has maintained a strong strikeout rate of approximately 25% to 27%. Reports indicate he is regarded as one of the system's most cerebral thinkers and has shown increased velocity, with his fastball sitting around 93.6 mph.
