Italy municipalities implement urban safety and infrastructure works

Various Italian municipalities are implementing urban maintenance and safety measures. In Teramo, sidewalk repairs on via Roma have begun as part of a project to complete an urban cycle path, costing 65,000 euros plus VAT. The project aims to improve pedestrian safety and connect via Po to viale Crispi.

In Prato, the municipality has launched a road signage maintenance plan, prioritizing areas near schools to ensure safety for students. Meanwhile, in San Giovanni Valdarno, an ordinance has mandated the maintenance of abandoned or degraded properties to ensure public hygiene and safety. In Cremona, the “school road” in via Decia has transitioned from an experimental phase to a permanent fixture, using fixed barriers to reduce traffic and increase safety for students at the Manzoni primary school. Additionally, San Giovanni Valdarno has scheduled extraordinary cleaning of bicycle racks in the city center, which will involve temporary parking bans in several locations.
