Waste management initiatives announced in Escobar and Bogotá

The Municipality of Escobar has released a weekly schedule for the collection of branches and pruning waste across several neighborhoods, including Ingeniero Maschwitz, Belén de Escobar, Garín, and 24 de Febrero in Argentina. Residents are instructed to deposit waste only on designated dates to avoid fines, ensuring that piles do not obstruct roads or storm drains and do not exceed one cubic meter in volume.

In Bogotá, Colombia, the Mayor's Office and the District Environment Secretariat have announced the second 'Reciclatón Distrital Empresarial 2026'. Scheduled for October 28 and 29, this free event allows companies and citizens to dispose of special and hazardous waste at three designated locations. While citizens can participate without prior registration, businesses must register by October 24. Accepted items include electronics, batteries, certain medicines, and recyclable materials, aiming to divert waste from the Doña Juana landfill.
