Waste management initiatives launched in Cidra and Panama City

In Cidra, Mayor Delvis J. Pagán Clavijo announced the 'Actívate Cidra' initiative, which involves municipal cleaning and maintenance operations. Recent efforts included the removal of six truckloads of trash and debris from various roads, specifically targeting the PR-782, PR-787, and PR-173 highways. The operation also involved painting poles and providing residents with guidance on physical address standardization.

In Panama City, the Sanitation Authority (AAUD) has implemented a new waste collection model involving two consortia in key areas such as Betania, Don Bosco, Parque Lefevre, Río Abajo, and Panamá Norte. The plan utilizes over 80 pieces of equipment, including compactor trucks and mini-loaders. To improve oversight, the authority introduced QR codes on new collection vehicles, allowing citizens to report missed collections or request special services, such as debris removal, via a digital portal.
