Waste management initiatives launched in Kuningan and Konawe Kepulauan

Various initiatives are being implemented in Indonesia to improve waste management and environmental governance. In Kuningan, PT Puspita Cipta Group has launched a socialization program for its office staff regarding the management of organic and non-organic waste. The program focuses on waste classification, sorting methodologies, and the long-term benefits of recycling to prevent harmful methane gas emissions at landfills.

In Konawe Kepulauan, the local government has begun the construction of an Integrated Waste Treatment Facility (TPST) on Wawonii Island. Supported by an allocation of approximately Rp30 billion from the Southeast Sulawesi Building and Infrastructure Arrangement Center, the project aims to move away from simple landfilling toward a systematic process of sorting, processing, and repurposing waste to protect soil fertility and water sources.
