Water Contracts Delivered to 79 Families in Lomas de Menchaca, Mexico

The State Water Commission (Comisión Estatal de Aguas, CEA) handed water‑service contracts to 79 families in the Lomas de Menchaca settlement of Queretaro. The delivery, witnessed by Senator Agustín Dorantes Lámbarri, was presented as a milestone in guaranteeing the right to potable water for the community.

Officials highlighted the role of organized neighbourhood residents in securing the contracts and said the next priority is the legal regularisation of the settlement, which would allow additional public services to reach the area. The senator quoted, "While you stay organised and we work together, government and citizens, we will progress faster," and stressed that regularisation is essential for further infrastructure such as health centres and roads.

The CEA executive vocal, Luis Alberto Vega Ricoy, praised the community’s cooperation and pledged continued efforts to extend water access to all households in the region.
