Water infrastructure projects advance in Mauritania and Tunisia

In Mauritania, the connection between the Idini hydraulic infrastructures and the distribution network in Nouakchott has been completed. This project, supervised by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, aims to increase the capital's potable water supply by up to 60,000 cubic meters per day. The $75 million initiative, funded by the Mauritanian state and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, involves drilling 24 new wells, rehabilitating 37 others, and constructing new reservoirs to support urban growth.

In Tunisia, Ooredoo Tunisie and the Association Carthage Horizon have inaugurated the ‘Water for All’ project in Kairouan. This social responsibility initiative focused on rehabilitating hydraulic infrastructure at the Hendi El Zitouna pumping station. The project is designed to provide improved and sustainable water access to 250 local families, addressing essential community needs through infrastructure upgrades.
