Overview

Various nations are implementing projects to improve water infrastructure and access. In Mauritania, the connection between Idini hydraulic infrastructures and the Nouakchott distribution network was completed, a $75 million project intended to increase the capital’s potable water supply by up to 60,000 cubic meters per day. Simultaneously, in Tunisia, the ‘Water for All’ project was inaugurated in Kairouan to rehabilitate pumping station infrastructure for local families.

Haiti’s National Directorate for Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) launched a call for proposals to construct the Anse-Rouge Drinking Water Supply System in the Artibonite department, supported by the International Development Association. In Tunisia, the government approved accelerated funding to extend the Djerba seawater desalination station, aiming to increase production capacity from 50,000 to 75,000 cubic meters per day through a 200 million dinar investment in production lines and distribution networks.
