Water infrastructure projects launched in Caazapá and Mártires
New water infrastructure projects have been completed in Caazapá, Paraguay, and Mártires, Argentina, to improve local resource management and emergency response.
In Caazapá, the K-141 Volunteer Firefighters Corps received a new water supply system funded by the Departmental Government. The project includes an artesian well at least 200 meters deep, a 30,000 liter storage tank, pressure pumps, and a hydrant network. The system features a 15 HP main pump and a jockey pump to maintain network pressure, aimed at strengthening fire extinction capabilities.
In Mártires, Governor Hugo Passalacqua supervised the installation of a new 20 HP submersible pump at a 465 meter deep drilling site. Managed by the Misionero Water Institute (IMAS), the work includes 900 meters of impulse piping and over 4,000 meters of domestic distribution network. The system, which can move 30,000 liters of water per hour, utilizes a new 50,000 liter reinforced concrete tank and benefits more than 400 families.
