South American water infrastructure developments

Overview

Regional water infrastructure initiatives have been announced and implemented across several South American locations to improve security and resource management.

In Brazil, major projects were announced for Apucarana and Águas Lindas de Goiás. Apucarana is planning a R$ 2 billion project to capture water from the Tibagi River to prevent shortages during droughts. In Águas Lindas de Goiás, a R$ 130 million proposal involves constructing six reservoirs and a new capture system to support a growing population.

In Paraguay and Argentina, new systems have been completed. Caazapá, Paraguay, implemented a water supply system for the K-141 Volunteer Firefighters Corps, featuring an artesian well and a hydrant network to improve fire extinction capabilities. In Mártires, Argentina, a new submersible pump and extensive distribution network were installed to provide water to more than 400 families.
