Water infrastructure projects launched in Haiti and Tunisia

In Haiti, the National Directorate for Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) has launched an international call for proposals to construct and operate the Anse-Rouge Drinking Water Supply System in the Artibonite department. Part of the 'Resilient, Sustainable and Decentralized Rural Water and Sanitation' project, the initiative is funded by a grant from the International Development Association (IDA). The project aims to extend and develop water infrastructure in the commune, following World Bank procurement regulations. The deadline for submitting proposals is October 1, 2026.

In Tunisia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries has approved the acceleration of funding for the extension of the Djerba seawater desalination station. The project intends to increase production capacity from 50,000 to 75,000 cubic meters per day by installing a third production line. The total investment is estimated at approximately 200 million dinars, with 95 million dinars allocated to the station extension and 105 million dinars for modernizing the distribution network, including the installation of 60 kilometers of new pipelines. The expansion aims to address increasing water pressure and supply disruptions on the island.
