Water infrastructure projects underway in Constanța and Alba

Water utility providers in Romania are conducting various infrastructure projects to improve supply and expand networks.

In Constanța, RAJA SA has announced a 10-hour water supply suspension on August 20, from 08:00 to 18:00. The works involve rehabilitating street networks, connecting new pipes, and replacing valves. The affected area includes consumers between Tomis, Alexandru Lăpușneanu Boulevard, Soveja Street, Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu Street, Partizanului Street, Luntrașului Street, and Semănătorului Street, as well as thermal points 154, 155, and 156. This project is part of a 25 million lei investment aimed at reducing network losses and increasing supply continuity.

In Alba County, the Alba County Council and APA CTTA Alba are working on several expansion projects to address water shortages caused by drought and heatwaves. Key developments include the final stage of a pipeline crossing the Mureș River near Drâmbar, which is expected to be completed this autumn. Other ongoing or upcoming works include new pipelines in Ighiu, increased storage capacity in Cricău through a new pumping station and 250 cubic meter reservoir, and a major system expansion in Gârda de Sus involving new water sources, a treatment plant, and 9 km of modern distribution networks.
