Water reserves decline in León and Navarra

Water reserves in several Spanish regions are experiencing significant declines as summer progresses. In the province of León, the Riaño reservoir has fallen to 47% of its capacity, while the Barrios de Luna reservoir has dropped below 33%.

In Navarra, water levels have reached the third lowest in the country, with total reserves at 46.32%. This is notably lower than the ten-year average for this period. Major reservoirs in the region, such as Itoiz and Yesa, are both operating at less than 50% capacity, reflecting an accelerating downward trend in water availability.
