Water shortage forces tanker deliveries to three Brno‑region municipalities
A prolonged drought and overloaded water sources have emptied the reservoir that supplies the Czech municipalities of Domašov, Rudka and Říčky. After a water‑saving appeal in late July, daily consumption rose by about 60‑80 m³, leading to the complete depletion of the tank.
The voluntary association Dobrovolný svazek obcí Domašovsko arranged for tanker trucks, assisted by fire‑brigade crews, to deliver drinking water to roughly 1,400 customers. The main source, a well drilled in 1959, ran dry for the first time last year, prompting the emergency water distribution.
