Water supply cuts hit Santiago and Heredia residents

Aguas Andinas announced a six‑hour emergency water cut on 28 June in the El Bosque sector of Santiago, Chile, to replace valves, expand networks and connect new urbanisations. The interruption is scheduled from 10:50 to 16:50 and is part of routine maintenance.

The Public Services Company of Heredia (ESPH) will carry out two water‑service suspensions in the San Rafael area of Heredia, Costa Rica. The first, on 30 June from 07:00 to 13:00, will affect about 8,048 people while the plant’s Río II line is washed. The second, on 1 July at the same hours, will impact roughly 4,180 people during a tank‑washing operation. Affected neighbourhoods include San Rafael centre, Los Ángeles and surrounding districts.

Both utilities cited routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades as the reasons for the temporary service losses, which will affect thousands of households in the respective cities.
