Water supply disruptions reported in Puerto Vallarta and Puerto Morelos

Water utility services are facing disruptions in two Mexican locations due to infrastructure issues. In Puerto Vallarta, Seapal Vallarta suspended water supply in several neighborhoods on Thursday, October 15, 2026, to perform urgent interconnection work on new lines in the El Pitillal delegation. Affected areas include La Playita, Centro Pitillal, Prados de la Montaña, Villa de Guadalupe, Paseos de la Ribera, Leandro Valle, La Posta, San Esteban, and Miramar condominiums. Service restoration was estimated for 4:00 PM.

In Puerto Morelos, authorities responded to a significant potable water leak caused by a collapsed pipe at the intersection of Joaquín Zetina Gasca Avenue and Delfín Street. The leak caused pavement cracking and asphalt sinking, prompting municipal officials to close vehicular traffic in the area to ensure public safety. The rupture involves four- and six-inch lines supplying the Villas Morelos and Villas La Playa areas. Officials noted that recent rains may have contributed to soil saturation and the subsequent pipe failure.
