Water supply restored in parts of Argentina and Venezuela

Water supply services are being restored in several regions following infrastructure repairs. In Argentina, the company Sameep repaired the Bermejo River water intake in Presidencia Roca. The outage was caused by a log striking a floating pontoon and damaging an electric pump. The repair is expected to progressively normalize water provision for seven Chaco localities, including Presidencia Roca, Pampa del Indio, Laguna Limpia, Ciervo Petiso, Colonias Unidas, Capitán Solari, and Las Garcitas.

In Venezuela, the Turimiquire Reservoir has resumed pumping operations to Margarita Island and parts of Sucre state. The system had been out of service since February due to structural damage in the transfer tunnel caused by seismic events. The resumption of the transfer is expected to reduce waiting times for water distribution in communities such as Tubores, Díaz, Marcano, García, and Gómez.
