Wayne Barrow wins legal battle over Notorious B.I.G. catalog

Wayne Barrow, the former manager of the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G., has won a legal battle against Faith Evans regarding payments from the sale of the rapper’s music catalog and intellectual property.

A Delaware Court of Chancery judge ruled that Evans did not have the right to withhold payments from a trust established by Voletta Wallace, the rapper’s mother, who passed away in early 2025. Barrow serves as the sole trustee of the trust and the executor of Ms. Wallace’s estate.

The dispute involves Notorious B.I.G. LLC, which entered a joint venture with Primary Wave in March 2025. Following the ruling, Barrow will receive the 25 percent share previously held by Ms. Wallace. Any interest earned by the trust is designated for the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation.

Separately, Christopher Jordan “CJ” Wallace has filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania challenging Barrow’s role as trustee and executor of his grandmother’s estate.
