South American weather alerts: Storms and rain forecast

Multiple regions across South America are facing significant weather shifts. In Argentina, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued yellow alerts for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential hail. Affected areas include southeast Mendoza, southeast Chubut, and eastern Santa Cruz. Additionally, yellow alerts are expected for Tucumán starting Wednesday, covering various departments including Capital and Yerba Buena. Other provinces such as Córdoba, San Luis, and La Pampa are also under watch for storms and precipitation.

In Uruguay, the Instituto Uruguayo de Meteorología (Inumet) predicts a cloudy Monday for the northeast, with fog and possible light rainfall in departments like Cerro Largo. Meanwhile, Paraguay is expected to experience a transition from cool mornings to warm afternoons, with an increasing probability of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the northern Chaco and northern Oriental Region starting Tuesday.

In contrast, Corrientes, Argentina, is expected to see rising temperatures and stable, dry conditions, which may assist in monitoring the Paraná River levels.
