Weather disruptions in Argentina and forest fire alert in Chile
In San Rafael, Argentina, persistent rain forecasts have forced the rescheduling or suspension of various cultural and sporting events. The weather is expected to bring precipitation from Sunday, October 11, through Thursday, October 15. Consequently, the 15th anniversary of the El Sosneado Community Integration Center has been postponed, and celebrations for Goudge and Cuadro Nacional have been suspended. The Goudge District Harvest Festival has been moved forward to Sunday, October 11, while the El Sosneado District Harvest Festival remains scheduled for October 10.
In Cochrane, Chile, Senapred has declared a Yellow Alert due to the “Rio Nef” forest fire in the Aysén Region. The fire has consumed approximately 5 hectares and is advancing toward the Laguna San Rafael National Park, with the front currently 500 meters from the protected area's boundary. The alert allows for the staggered mobilization of additional resources from CONAF and firefighters to prevent the fire from expanding and to minimize environmental and human impact.
