Italy weather: High pressure brings mild temperatures before cold front
A robust high-pressure system is currently dominating much of Italy, bringing stable conditions, sunny skies, and mild daytime temperatures that may reach up to 20°C in some central and southern plains. This period of stability is expected to persist through the middle of the week, though significant temperature fluctuations are anticipated, with chilly mornings and potential fog in the Po Valley and central-northern plains.
A shift in weather patterns is forecasted for the upcoming weekend. An influx of colder air from the northeast is expected to move across the peninsula, leading to a drop in temperatures and increased atmospheric instability. This transition may bring a return of rainfall, particularly to the central and southern regions of the country. By early November, meteorologists suggest a more sustained period of colder, winter-like air may arrive as the high-pressure system shifts toward Scandinavia.
