Argentina weather: temperature extremes in Catamarca and rain in Buenos Aires

Argentina is facing varied weather patterns across different regions. In Catamarca, the Universidad Nacional de Catamarca predicts a week of significant thermal amplitude and wind. Temperatures are expected to rise progressively, peaking on Wednesday with a maximum of 29 °C and a minimum of 13 °C. Strong northeast winds with gusts between 42 and 50 km/h are expected early in the week. In the Puna region, specifically Antofagasta de la Sierra, temperatures may drop to -1 °C.

In Buenos Aires, the Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) has issued a forecast indicating a return of rain. While the beginning of the week will see partially cloudy skies with cool temperatures, isolated storms and showers are expected on Thursday, August 27. The probability of precipitation for Thursday ranges between 10% and 40%, accompanied by southeast winds of up to 22 km/h.
