Indonesia weather: BMKG forecasts rain, haze, and cloudy skies

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued various weather forecasts across Indonesia, predicting a mix of rain, haze, and cloudy conditions in several regions.

In several major cities, atmospheric convergence and confluence are expected to trigger rain. Moderate rain is possible in Nabire, while light rain is forecasted for Medan, Jambi, Bengkulu, Tanjung Selor, Mamuju, Palu, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke. Some areas, including Bandar Lampung, Pontianak, and Manokwari, may experience smoke or haze, while Pekanbaru, Padang, Palembang, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, and Ternate are expected to face reduced visibility due to hazy conditions.

Regional reports indicate specific local patterns: Riau faces potential rain with lightning and strong winds in areas like Siak, Kampar, and Pekanbaru. In Central Java, light rain is expected in seven mountainous regions, though residents are warned to remain vigilant regarding forest fires and tidal flooding (rob) on the northern coast. In the Riau Islands, most areas are predicted to remain cloudy. Jakarta is expected to experience partly cloudy to overcast conditions, with specific temperature ranges across its various administrative cities.
