San Juan, Argentina, under weather alert for Zonda winds and storms

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued a yellow alert for several sectors of San Juan, Argentina, due to the Zonda wind phenomenon. Forecasts indicate that wind gusts could exceed 70 km/h during the afternoon, particularly in the Precordillera areas of Calingasta, Pocito, Rivadavia, Sarmiento, Ullum, and Zonda.

In the Iglesia mountain zone, a separate alert has been issued for winds that may exceed 100 km/h. The weather pattern is expected to bring high humidity and cloud cover throughout the day, with temperatures ranging between 12°C and 26°C. Isolated storms are possible during the night as wind directions shift to the south.
