Weather updates: Heatwaves and shifting storm patterns across the Americas

Various regions across the Americas are experiencing significant weather shifts. In the Dominican Republic, temperatures are returning to levels between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius with scattered cloudiness. While most of the country remains dry, the Dominican Meteorology Institute predicts afternoon showers in several provinces, and a tropical wave is expected to increase cloud cover and rain in certain areas within 48 hours. The Emergency Operations Center remains on green alert for potential river rises in Valverde, Dajabón, and Santiago Rodríguez.

In Paraguay, a hot and sunny Thursday is expected with maximum temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius. However, a cold front is anticipated to arrive by Friday, bringing increased cloud cover, scattered rains, and thunderstorms, followed by a temperature drop over the weekend.

In El Salvador, the Ministry of Environment announced the end of a severe meteorological drought that lasted from August 7 to September 3. While rainfall is expected to continue through September, projections suggest totals may remain below normal in many parts of the country.

Other regional updates include a cool, clear day forecast for Curicó, Chile, and unstable weather in Chubut, Argentina, where Esquel faces potential rain and snow with high wind gusts.
