Weather systems bring rain and wind to northern and eastern Iran
Rainfall continues across the northern and eastern regions of East Azerbaijan province. According to meteorologist Navruz Asgharzadeh, the current weather system is expected to exit the province by late Saturday, with temperatures projected to rise by one to two degrees Celsius following its departure.
While conditions are expected to stabilize temporarily, a new weather system is forecasted to enter the province on Monday, potentially triggering a yellow-level meteorological warning. Recent data shows Shabestar recorded 6 mm of rainfall, while temperature extremes in the province ranged from a low of 4 degrees Celsius in Sarab to a high of 27 degrees Celsius in Jolfa.
Nationwide, the Iran Meteorological Organization has issued forecasts for several northern provinces, including Mazandaran, Golestan, North Khorasan, and Razavi Khorasan, predicting rain, thunderstorms, and temporary strong winds. Scattered precipitation is also expected in parts of the northwest and central regions throughout the coming week, with potential dust storms and strong winds affecting the northeast and east on Sunday and Monday.
