Wei Ping-cheng criticizes opponent over education issues

Wei Ping-cheng, a candidate for Changhua County Magistrate, has criticized his opponent, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Chen Su-yue, regarding education issues ahead of Teacher's Day.

Wei highlighted that the current Teacher's Day holiday resulted from legislative amendments supported by the Kuomintang and Taiwan People's Party. He accused Chen of voting against these amendments in the Legislative Yuan, suggesting she prioritized party interests over the welfare of teachers and the public. Wei called for Chen to apologize to teachers nationwide for her vote.

Additionally, Wei criticized the handling of school affairs meeting reforms, alleging that the Minister of Education skipped a crucial legislative meeting to accompany Chen on a school inspection in Changhua, which Wei characterized as political campaigning. He also criticized a recent Ministry of Education video, ‘The Shape of One Hundred Points’, claiming its depiction of teacher-student interactions is unrealistic and could potentially lead to unfair investigations against educators.
