Weiden traffic police report 1,124 speeding violations in July

The Weiden Traffic Police Inspection reported that 1,124 drivers were penalized during speed enforcement operations in July 2026. The inspections covered 109,755 vehicles across the districts of Tirschenreuth, Neustadt an der Waldnaab, and the city of Weiden.

Of the total violations, officers issued 494 formal citations, 630 warnings, and 10 driving bans. Notable incidents included a driver on the B 299 near Erbendorf recorded at 125 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, resulting in a one-month driving ban and a minimum fine of 480 euros. Additionally, a motorcyclist on the A 93 near Weiden was clocked at 189 km/h in a 120 km/h zone, facing a two-month driving ban and a fine of at least 600 euros.
