Wellovar Olympic pool filling begins near Bjelovar

Construction of the Wellovar geothermal sport and recreation park in Veliki Korenov, near Bjelovar, has reached a new milestone with the filling of its Olympic-sized swimming pool. The complex is designed to utilize geothermal and solar energy and will feature 10 pools, including an indoor Olympic pool with seating for approximately 600 spectators. This facility is expected to be one of only three in Croatia to hold an international certificate.

The project is positioned as a major driver for tourism and economic development in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County. The importance of the complex is further highlighted by Bjelovar being named the host for the 2027 European Junior Swimming Championships, which will serve as one of the first major sporting events held at the site.
