Wero Tracker maps European PayPal‑alternative adoption across banks and online shops
A community‑run website, Werotracker.eu, was launched to clarify where the European payment service Wero can be used. The platform aggregates official announcements and user‑submitted data to list banks that already offer Wero and online retailers that accept it, presenting the information in a colour‑coded, sortable format.
Wero enables fast peer‑to‑peer transfers using a phone number instead of an IBAN, positioning itself as a European alternative to PayPal. The service is currently active in France, Germany and Belgium, with additional countries preparing for launch. The European Payment Initiative, a consortium of independent financial institutions, promotes Wero as a continent‑wide payment solution. The Tracker helps consumers and merchants determine whether Wero is a viable payment option for everyday transactions.
