Wesley Doran presents solo exhibition in Amsterdam

Artist and photographer Wesley Doran will present his solo exhibition, ‘To the Finder the Spoils’, at Atelier K84 in Amsterdam from September 4 to October 3, 2026. The project explores the connections between the Netherlands, Curaçao, and the sea separating them, drawing from Doran’s bi-cultural background.

Using a combination of photography, installations, artist books, and analog techniques such as cyanotype, Doran examines how colonial history influences identity and memory. The work integrates family archives, oral histories, and newly created images, often recontextualizing materials like water, sand, and textiles to bridge the gap between individual memory and broader history.

Doran, a graduate of HKU Photography and a winner of ‘De Beeldmakers’ talent search, will be present at the gallery every Friday and Saturday from 12:00 to 18:00 to engage with visitors regarding his work and his search for identity.
