West Achaia conducts flood preparedness exercise

The Municipality of West Achaia conducted a tabletop civil protection exercise on September 28, 2026, to prepare for potential flooding. Following the ‘Dardanus Plan’, the simulation focused on a scenario involving the overflow of the Peiros River in the Alissos and Lousika areas.

The exercise tested the mobilization and coordination of various services, including the police, fire service, and EKAB (National Center for Emergency Care). Key objectives included evaluating emergency management procedures, citizen protection measures, and the ability of local authorities to provide an immediate and coordinated response to natural disasters.
