West Bank: Two Palestinians killed in Jenin and Sa’ir incidents

Two Palestinians were killed in separate incidents across the West Bank on Friday. In Jenin, 58-year-old Fathi Khazem, a retired colonel in the Palestinian National Security Forces, was shot dead by Israeli forces during a raid on his home. The Israeli military stated that Khazem, known as Abu Raad, attempted to stab a soldier during the operation. Palestinian sources and eyewitnesses reported that the shooting occurred after a confrontation regarding compliance with orders.

In the southern West Bank, 17-year-old Karim Sanad Raja Shalaldeh was killed by gunfire during an attack in the Sa’ir area near Hebron. Palestinian health officials reported that Shalaldeh sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Local reports indicate that armed settlers stormed the Khirbet Hamroush area, opening fire on residents and setting at least one home on fire. A 70-year-old man was also wounded during the settler attack.

Additionally, a 14-year-old boy was shot in the chest and back during an Israeli military raid near Jenin. Israeli security officials have warned that rising settler violence is causing significant political damage to Israel and placing increased pressure on military forces stationed in the territory.
