West Bank: 31 attacks on Palestinian symbols and property reported
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has documented a series of attacks against Palestinian symbols, monuments, and citizens in the West Bank. Since the beginning of 2026, 18 attacks have targeted Palestinian monuments and symbols, including 16 memorials, one shrine, and various murals. These incidents occurred across six governorates, with Nablus recording the highest number of attacks.
In addition to the targeting of cultural symbols, 13 separate violations were recorded on a single Tuesday involving Israeli forces and settlers. These incidents included the cutting of olive trees, theft of crops and agricultural equipment, and the raiding of homes. In the Salfit governorate, settlers cut down olive trees, while in Tubas and the northern Jordan Valley, approximately 250 olive trees were destroyed.
Reports indicate that Israeli forces were directly involved in 13 of the monument attacks, while settlers carried out others, sometimes with military protection. In Jenin, Israeli forces prevented most farmers from accessing their lands for the olive harvest, detaining vehicles and individuals in the process. Other reported actions include the theft of livestock and the expansion of settlement outposts.
