West Bank and Jerusalem face widespread Israeli raids and settler violence

West Bank raids settler violence Israeli military operations Al-Aqsa Mosque Palestinian arrests

Israeli forces conducted extensive military operations across the West Bank and Jerusalem, involving widespread raids, house searches, and arrests. In Jerusalem, political analyst Rasim Obeidat was detained from his home in Jabal Mukaber. Other arrests included pharmacist Omaima Numan Abed in Jenin and Mohammed Obeid in Nablus.

Simultaneously, settler violence escalated in several areas. In Al-Mughayyir, settlers attacked an ambulance and raided a sheep farm, stealing agricultural equipment. In Abu Falah, north of Ramallah, settlers burned Palestinian vehicles. Additionally, Israeli forces were reported to have uprooted olive and forest trees in Beit Awwar al-Fauqa and Haddad.

In Jerusalem, hundreds of settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. This coincided with an Israeli military lockdown on the West Bank, which is expected to last until early October, restricting movement between cities and through major checkpoints.
