West Bank: Israeli forces conduct widespread raids and arrests
Israeli forces conducted a series of widespread raids, house searches, and arrests across multiple cities and camps in the West Bank on Saturday. Operations were reported in Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Jenin, Nablus, Salfit, Qalqilya, Bethlehem, Hebron, Jericho, and Jerusalem.
In the village of Al-Mughayyir, north of Ramallah, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported three injuries resulting from clashes involving settlers and Israeli forces, including one individual struck by live ammunition. In Al-Amari camp, local sources reported one person was injured by gunfire. In Qalqilya, authorities installed iron gates to close the entrance to the town of Nabi Ilyas.
Separately, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, addressed the escalating tensions in the region. He described the West Bank as a 'land without law' and highlighted the continuous aggression from settlers against the Palestinian population. Pizzaballa called for increased diplomatic efforts to prevent further violence and advocated for a two-state solution to ensure rights for both Israelis and Palestinians.
