West Bank Palestinian factories and farmland targeted by settler attacks
Palestinian industrial facilities and agricultural lands in the West Bank are facing increasing attacks attributed to Israeli settlers, aimed at disrupting the local economy and forcing displacement.
In the village of Ein Siniya, a fire near the al-Omari aluminium factory destroyed approximately 50 dunams of olive trees and damaged the facility's yard. Local officials reported seeing a settler near the site before the blaze and noted that Israeli soldiers prevented residents from helping to extinguish the fire.
Other reported incidents include a stone-crushing facility in Ein Siniya suffering an estimated $700,000 in losses after settlers allegedly set fire to heavy machinery. In as-Samu, an attack on an industrial facility reportedly left more than 90 percent of heavy equipment beyond repair, affecting 55 people who depend on the site for income.
