West Bank Palestinians face displacement and settler violence

Palestinian residents in the West Bank are facing increasing displacement and violence due to settler attacks and Israeli administrative actions. In Al-Mughayyir, near Ramallah, Israeli settlers reportedly attacked a Palestinian village, burning two homes belonging to the Tubasi family and damaging vehicles. Local sources claim that Israeli forces provided protection to the settlers and forced the family to evacuate their homes at gunpoint, despite a court decision intended to facilitate their return.

In the Masafer Yatta region south of Hebron, specifically in Khirbet al-Dab’a, residents are being forced to live in caves after their homes were demolished. Families are using hammers and chisels to expand these caves to accommodate their members. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) stated that these demolitions were part of enforcement actions against structures deemed illegal, conducted with political approval and following legal notification procedures.

The residents of Khirbet al-Dab’a, numbering approximately 120 people, live in harsh conditions with limited access to electricity and water, relying on solar panels and water trucks.
