West Bank Palestinians suffer escalating humanitarian crisis under Israeli restrictions

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) says more than 1,100 Palestinians, including at least 243 children, have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers since the Gaza war began in early 2023. In 2023 alone, 74 deaths were recorded. The organization highlights the worsening mental‑health situation in Nablus, where a single MSF clinic provides face‑to‑face care, noting patients like Rana, who lost her two‑year‑old daughter because she could not leave her home: “My daughter died because we could not leave.” Since 2025, over 33,000 Palestinians have been displaced from refugee camps, and UN reports document more than 3,000 settler attacks between 2023 and 2025.

Critics of Israel argue that the state has deliberately imposed famine on Gaza, describing the denial of hunger as comparable to Holocaust denial. They cite Israeli officials and media claiming there is no famine, while pointing to evidence of severe food shortages and suffering. The piece accuses the denial of orchestrated propaganda aimed at avoiding responsibility for what some label as genocide or ethnic cleansing.
