West Bank settlers accused of targeting Palestinian farmers and journalists

Reports from the West Bank indicate an escalation in violence involving Israeli settlers targeting Palestinian civilians and media professionals. In the town of Kobar, Palestinian farmers allege that settlers, sometimes wearing military uniforms to intimidate residents, have engaged in theft of livestock and solar panels, as well as physical intimidation and gunfire.

Simultaneously, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has documented a rise in attacks against media workers. During the first eight months of 2026, CPJ reviewed at least 16 incidents where settlers assaulted, threatened, or obstructed journalists. These incidents included physical beatings, being kicked, and being chased, with at least five assignments being abandoned due to safety concerns. The data shows an increase in such incidents compared to the previous year, affecting dozens of Palestinian, Israeli, and international journalists.
