West Bank surge in Israeli raids and settler attacks razes dozens of homes

Israeli forces have intensified operations in the occupied West Bank, carrying out large‑scale raids that have demolished dozens of Palestinian homes and detained hundreds of residents. In the village of Tal near Nablus, troops razed about 70 houses and arrested more than 50 Palestinians after an earlier incursion by Israeli settlers that left four Palestinians and two settlers dead. Settler attacks have also spread to nearby villages, with fires set to homes and olive groves and shootings of civilians, including people with disabilities. The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that 87 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank this year, most by Israeli forces or settlers. United Nations officials and human‑rights groups have condemned the surge in violence and the ongoing expansion of Israeli settlements, calling it a major obstacle to peace.
