West Bengal: BJP claims 6,700 companies closed under TMC rule
BJP national president Nityanand Rai has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration of overseeing a period of significant economic decline in West Bengal. Speaking at the ‘Yuva Samvad Conclave’ in Kolkata, Rai claimed that approximately 6,700 companies have closed over the last 15 years of TMC rule, leading to a massive flight of capital from the state.
Rai stated that a priority for a BJP government in the state would be to create an investment-friendly environment to generate employment opportunities. He emphasized that the youth should focus on long-term consistency rather than seeking shortcuts in life.
Additionally, Rai highlighted the importance of sports, arts, and culture in West Bengal's identity. He suggested that new educational policies should incorporate vocational and additional courses to increase engagement. He also noted the rise of startups under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, encouraging the younger generation to transition from job seekers to job creators.
