West Bengal CM Shubendu Adhikari orders seizure of Tulu Mondal's assets

West Bengal Chief Minister Shubendu Adhikari announced that authorities have frozen about 93 crore rupees held in accounts linked to alleged corrupt businessman Tulu Mondal. He said cash worth 53 lakh rupees, 268 g of gold, 400 g of silver, 63 g of platinum, three coin‑counting machines, a computer, a CPU and two USB drives were also seized. In total, 242 vehicles – including trucks, dumpers, BMWs and Audis – and 21 properties covering roughly 300 bighas (about 300 acres) such as houses, a farm‑house, petrol pumps, a parking area and stone‑crusher units have been confiscated. Adhikari accused former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of having supported the alleged corruption, stating, "Such large‑scale corruption could not have happened without the support of Mamata Banerjee's government." Mondal remains at large, believed to have fled abroad after May 4.
