West Bengal Governor urges universities to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi has called upon all government and private universities, affiliated colleges, and educational institutions in the state to observe August 14 as 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.'

A statement issued by Lok Bhavan noted that the observance aims to bring students, teachers, and parents together to remember the tragedy of the Partition of India and its profound impact on Bengal. The Governor emphasized that the event would allow the younger generation to understand one of the darkest chapters of the country's history, including the displacement of millions and the resulting social, cultural, and economic losses.

In addition to the remembrance day, Governor Ravi appealed to the public, particularly the youth, to participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes and workplaces.
